My 5 Favorite Bible Quotes About Heaven

Published by on April 9th, 2020.

Here are my five favorite Bible verses about heaven.

Revelation 21:4 “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

Is this not one of the greatest verses in the Bible about heaven? Just think about this for a moment; the day is coming when all sorrow, pain, suffering, and even death will all be ancient history. God will wipe it all away just as He will every tear. Only Jesus Who conquered the grave and death itself can make such a claim because He is God and has the omnipotence to bring it to pass.

John 14:2 “In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?”

Just prior to Jesus leaving the disciples to go to the cross, He knew that they were troubled and were afraid to ask Him many of the things that He talked about like, “The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of his enemies. He will be killed, but three days later he will rise from the dead” (Mark 9:31). He reassured them that He would be preparing a place or position for them after He ascended and they would be ruling the twelve tribes of Israel when the nation returns again to the land, but this time under the true King of kings and Lord of lords.

Revelation 22:4 “They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.”

On that great day when the kingdom comes down from heaven as the New Jerusalem, and “the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of the street of the city” (Rev 22:1-2), we get to see God face to face for the very first time. Haven’t you deeply yearned to see Jesus’ face for the first time? The promise is “they will see His face.”

Revelation 21:21-23 “And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, each of the gates made of a single pearl, and the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass. And I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb. And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb.”

Heaven will be very “green” because we won’t need electricity for light. God Himself in the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, will provide all the light that’s needed and it will illuminate the gate of pearl and the street of transparent gold. Can you even picture that?

First Corinthians 2:9 “But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him.”

Have you ever been in a place that is so gloriously beautiful that you tried to describe it to someone else? You had to know that they would have had to been there to appreciate the majestic splendor of whatever it was you witnessed. That’s the problem with trying to describe what heaven is like. The Apostle John gave a very good try (Rev 21, 22) but can we truly know what it’s like without seeing it? Even though Paul was talking about the mystery of the gospel that had been hidden (1s Cor 2:6-8), I think we can’t know what heaven must be like.

Conclusion

Maybe you have better Bible quotes about heaven than what I have written, and if so, please share them with the readers so we can have even more joy looking forward to our final home, the New Jerusalem and seeing our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
