God is all around us, but the proof isn’t exactly scientific. God lives in our personal relationship with Him. We can strengthen our relationship with Him through faith and experience.
Looking for evidence of God
If you’re looking for evidence of God, here are a couple of things to consider.
1. The miracle of creation
The trillions of sequential events required for us to exist on earth may seem coincidental to some people, but our planet makes a good case for God. When we are out in nature, we often get the feeling that we—and all the things around us—are not random. The Book of Mormon says it this way: “All things denote there is a God; yea, even the earth, and all things that are upon the face of it, yea, and its motion, yea, and also all the planets which move in their regular form do witness that there is a Supreme Creator” (Alma 30:44).
2. God’s word
God speaks to His children. The Bible and the Book of Mormon are both written records of some of the experiences that people have had with God. As you read the Bible and the Book of Mormon, you can understand who God is, and you can discover His love for us.
When you read the scriptures, experiment with the lessons you learn by asking God if these lessons are true. The feelings you get will strengthen your relationship with God.
